Chelsea 's comprehensive 4-0 win over the Spanish side Real Betis brings them one step closer to the Champions League knock-out stages.

Michael Essien passed the ball to Didier Drogba in the 24th minute who put Chelsea ahead. Ricardo Carvalho collected a rebound and scored second for Chelsea after Betis' goalkeeper Antonio Doblas failed to keep the ball saved from Frank Lampard's free-kick.

Joe Cole scored a stunning third just before the hour mark and substitute Hernan Crespo's header home from  Shaun Wright-Phillips's cross five minutes later rounded up Chelsea's victory.

Liverpool are also on track to qualify for knock out stages after 1-0 away win at Anderlecht. Anderlecht remains bottom of Champions League Group G with no points. Rangers failed to score at Ibrox against Slovakian side Artmedia Bratislava and the match finished in goalless draw.
