Andy Cole scored twice in Manchester City's 2-1 win over West Ham. City had upper hand for the most part of the match and they have missed several chances.
Cole's subtle finish in the 18th minute gave City the well deserved lead. City counter-attack culminated in Darius Vassel penetrating the penalty area and serving the ball to Cole. Cole's kick lifted the ball over Roy Carroll's and sent it bending into the top corner. Cole, who turned 34 day before the match, increased City lead in the 56th minute. Carroll saved the attempts from Vassel and Musampa, but he was unable to prevent Cole smashing the rebound back into the net.
Bobby Zamora scored for West Ham from Benayoun's through ball just before final whistle. Manchester City is firmly entrenched in the upper part of the Premiership table after Sunday's win with 17 points out of 9 games.
