Manchester City and former England and Liverpool goalkeeper David James has signed a one-year contract extension with the City. James is now bound to stay with the City till the end of 2006/2007 season. His current contract expires next summer and James' future at Eastlands was in doubt after he was axed from England squad. However, Blues boss Stuart Pearce decided that James' performance at City was satisfactory and offered him a contract extension.
David James received credits for helping to keep the Blues in the Premiership after he joined from West Ham in January 2004. However, he's performance was at the moments substandard, particularly in England's friendly against Denmark.
