Jermain Defoe's early goal gave Tottenham a win over London rivals Fulham. Defoe scored the only goal of the match in the 8th minutes on Ledley King's long pass. Fulham's goalkeeper Tony Warner gets the credit for several brave saves, that denied Tottenham several chances to increase their lead. The Cottagers have plenty of ball possession, but they were lacking ability to create the scoring opportunities.
Fulham came the nearest to equalizing when Claus Jensen hit the bar in the first-half of the match. The Frenchman Steed Malbranque was Fulham's most dangerous player on the pitch.
Tottenham is now fourth on the Premiership table, nine points behind Chelsea, while Fulham is only two points ahead of bottom-placed Everton.
