Manchester United qualified for the Champions League group stage with a 3-0 win at Hungarian champions Debrecen (6-0 on aggregate).Two Gabriel Heinze headers and a Kieran Richardson strike cleared United's way to the group stage.
The Gary Neville's groin injury will be a major setback for Manchester United and England national team alike. He is expected to be out of the game for at least five weeks. United took the lead in the 20th minute when Paul Scholes's corner kick found unmarked Heinze in the box who headed the ball in the net. Heinze also headed second for United in the 60th minute after Ryan Giggs's free kick. Kieran Richardson sealed United's victory in the 64th minute with a fine strike from the edge of the box.
Rangers also progressed to the Champions League group stage with a 2-0 win over Famagusta (4-1 on aggregate).
