Everton will try to sign Czech Republic's ace Miran Baros from Liverpool after failed attempt to land Andy Johnson from Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace rejected Everton's £6 million offer for Johnson.
Shalke 04 have been linked to Baros, however they were deterred by the £7 million price tag asked by Liverpool, the price Everton are not willing to pay.
Baros has not played in any of Liverpool's Champions League qualifying matches, that would render him ineligible to play for any other club in this season Champions League. Everton are playing their first Champions League match on 09 August against a Spanish side Villareal.
If Everton want Baros to play in that match, they must complete the transfer before next Thursday.
Monaco and Aston Villa have also been linked to Baros.
