TNS 0-3 Liverpool

Liverpool struggled to break through the firm defence of the Welsh side TNS in the return leg of the first qualifying round of this season Champions League.

TNS's hero was their goalkeeper Gerard Doherty, with the string of brave saves. Doherty performed exceptionally well in the first leg as well.

Djibril Cisse put Liverpool ahead after 26 minutes. Zenden's cross followed by Chris King's mistake produced the opportunity for Cisse inside the box. Steve King's tackle was not enough to stop Liverpool's striker placing the ball behind Doherty.

Liverpool's skipper Steven Gerrard came off the bench to score twice in the last five minutes, to give Liverpool the 3-0 win (6-0 on aggregate).

After the final whistle TNS got the lap of honour for their brave performance, while Liverpool is preparing for their second qualifying match against Lithuanian
