Liverpool are set to reject £32 million Chelsea offer for their captain Steven Gerrard. The club held new contract talks with Gerrard on Monday evening and put forward new contract terms that include £100,000 a week salary. Gerrard has been given time to respond, but the club officials are not to optimistic about the outcome.
Real Madrid are also interested in Gerrard services. Real are expected to offer a salary of £130,000 a week.
Any transfer must be completed before Liverpool's Champions League qualifying match on July 13 against Welsh side TNS. If Gerrard takes part in that match he will be ineligible to play for any other club in this season Champions League.
Gerrard is upset that Liverpool has not given his contract high priority, while new contract with Dietmar Hamman was fast tracked.
