Steven Gerrard's future hangs in the balance after Gerrard and his advisers withdrew from contract talks with Liverpool.
Gerrard expected talks to continue over the weekend, however, Liverpool management seem to be less keen to finalise the deal. There are some reports that Liverpool's manager, Rafael Benitez is trying to clinch a deal with Real Madrid that would see Gerrard moving to Spain in exchange for three young players and a substantial fee.
After their win over AC Milan in the Champions League final, Gerrard said that he intends to stay with the club that he joined as a boy.
Chelsea has also been linked to Gerrard with the British £30 milion record bid, to sign the Liverpool captain.
