Lee Bowyer decided not to move from Newcastle to Birmingham due to fear of violence. The section of Birmingham fans organised an on-line petition against Bowyer's transfer.
They cited Bowyer's troublesome past as the reason to abandon the deal. In the most recent incident, Bowyer fought his team mate Kieron Dyer in April 2005. The recent poll organised by Birmingham Evening Mail, 94 percent of Birmingham fans supported Bowyers move to Birmingham.
Bowyer is expected to make final decision in a few days time. He also expressed wishes to continue his football career in London or France.
