Chelsea midfielder Scott Parker has signed a 5 year contract with Newcastle in a deal worth £6.5 million. Chelsea acquired Parker from Charlton for the price of £10 million.
While Parker played regularly in Charlton's first team, he only occasionally appeared on the pitch for Chelsea.
He made it clear that his ambitions are to play regularly in the Premiership.
Newcastle confirmed they were targeting Parker for some time.It is expected they will match his current weekly salary of £55000. Everton attempted to sign Parker, but dropped out of the race leaving the way for Newcastle to sign 24 year old England international.
