The Newcastle midfielder Lee Bowyer will decide by the end of the week whether to make the move to Birmingham. Bowyer has been given permission by his club to hold talks with Birmingham.
Birmingham is expected to offer around $500 000 for Bowyer. They would have to match his present weekly salary of £45000.
It is expected that Bowyer will become available once the Scott Parker's transfer from Chelsea to Newcastle is completed.
