Liverpool has been given the place in the first qualifying round of the Champions League season 2005/2006.
Although Liverpool beat AC Milan in 2004/2005 Champions League final, they were not guaranteed place in season 2005/2006 because they finished fifth in the last years Premiership. In future the winner of the UEFA Champions League will automatically qualify for the next seasons Champions League.
